Being an ardent nature lover, I sometimes prefer to ditch everything including my camera to take that long pending walk amidst nature, to enjoy myself and its charm to the fullest. But there have been times when I missed capturing those gorgeous shots simply because I wouldn’t have my camera handy. I have been on a look out for a budgeted phone with good camera recently and have been testing quite a few in the recent times. Therefore when I was asked to review the newly launched Asus Zenfone 3 phone, I was quite excited as I heard good things about Asus Zenfone series which delivers good pictures and got sizeable options on camera setting to choose from. And off-course a 16 megapixel rear camera, 8 MP front camera and 4k video recording sounded promising from travel perspective. After experimenting with few shots on Zenfone 3, I can say that if the company claims that the phone is built for photography – it truly justifies the same

The picture came out well enough despite the car moving at a speed of 90 kms/ hr simply because Asus Zenfone 3 16 MP rear camera uses 4-axis, 4 stops Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which helps to capture a steady blur free shots. 4k video recording feature is another winner enabled with a 3 axis electronic image stabiliser (EIS) which helps in keeping the handheld videos steady & clear.
The PixelMaster 3.0 lifts the new Zenfone 3 Series photography which is packed with a 16MP sensor, 64MP Super Resolution technology, f/2.0-aperture lens and TriTech auto-focus technology which combines laser, object detection, color correction and clarity in just 0.03 seconds.

The phone is quite classy and elegant in terms of design, look & feel. I was given 5.5 shimmer gold Zenfone 3 for the review and the grip of the phone left me impressed. It has front & rear 2.5D Contoured Corning Gorilla Glass which makes it scratch free. Besides this the phone has C type charging which ensures that the phone never heats up while getting charged or while playing games/surfing the web.

Moreover, the fingerprint sensor in the back panel is conveniently located to use it at a touch of the finger. Apart from unlocking the phone in a fraction of second, you can also swipe the finger down the censor to summon the selfie camera and tap with a tip to take a picture. Double tap it to answer the incoming calls. Do you need anything else?

This phone is powered by 64-bit, 2.0 GHz octa-core snapdragon 625 processor (14 nm CPU with 35 percent lower day of use power) 4 GB memory and desktop grade Adreno 506 graphic performance
Other Asus Zenfone 3 Features:
- 5 magnet Speaker – Audio Feature
- 300 mbps 4G LTE
- Display FHD – 5.2”
- Reversible type C 2.0 Charging
- 6.1 Android Marshmallow OS
- ZenUI
My verdict
Priced at 21K INR, Asus Zenfone 3 is a good bet which offers a satisfied range of features needed in a smart-phone. Additionally, the 4K video recording and the image quality of photographs clicked is incomparable and wins above everything
